For my senior thesis at Biola University, I spent a year making a 4 and a half minute charcoal animation with 3000+ frames. Each frame is meticulously handdrawn, photopgraphed, and then erased to make room for the next.
Synopsis:
Beginning from the mouth of a cave, a quirky trio of characters make their way across a landscape shrouded in eternal fog, searching for the sky. But not all is as it seems. At some point, the things we ignore come back to haunt us, and the stages of grief march forward despite attempts to cling on desperately to denial.
